The Youth Edition is a ready-to-use engagement model for youth-centered spaces, including:
- Libraries
- Schools and classrooms
- After-school programs
- Youth development organizations
- Community and nonprofit programs
The experience begins with hands-on activity and moves into structured reflection using a simple framework: DO • NOTICE • CONNECT
How it Works:
DO- Young people begin with interactive activities like the signature prompt:
What’s Your Diversity Formula?
NOTICE- Participants reflect on what they observe during the activity:
- patterns in choices and perspectives
- differences in how people build their formulas
- what surprises or stands out
- how the group interacts during the process
CONNECT- Participants deepen the experience through structured reflection using:
- Reflect prompts (self-awareness)
- Relate prompts (perspective-taking)
- Rise Up prompts (action and responsibility)
This is where individual insight becomes shared understanding and conversation.
WHAT CHANGES WHEN YOUNG PEOPLE ENGAGE
Across youth spaces, this experience helps shift group dynamics in meaningful ways:
- Conversations move beyond surface-level responses
- More young people participate—not just the most vocal voices
- Participants begin using shared language to talk about identity and experience
- Listening becomes more intentional and engaged
- Groups build stronger connection and trust over time
This is not about telling young people what to think.
It is about giving them a structure for how to think together.
