The Systems of Safety is a layered process for creating safe spaces in our organizations and institutions.
The chemistry lab has rules like no eating or drinking in the lab; safety equipment like eye goggles to prevent injury; and emergency equipment like fire extinguishers in case of a fire. These rules, precautions, and emergency equipment all work together to create a System of Safety for scientists as they explore and make discoveries.
The same is true for our organizations and spaces. We need to create several layers of safety so people feel comfortable showing up authentically, making genuine connections, and taking meaningful action.
